Let me tell you a little about myself and my ten year old son Jake. We live in north London in a large four bedroom house semi detached in Whetstone N20. The area is safe & green and we have good supermarkets, shops and restaurants and several language schools in the local vicinity namely Twin Towers English College & Lexis School of Languages. We have access to the northern line and piccadilly line tube on zone 4 & good local bus routes. I am 49 years old & work part-time in sales. My hobbies are various, rock/indie music, cooking, gardening, Zumba dance classes & going to the cinema. Jake is an avid footballer, enjoys making Lego models, creative drawing and story writing, watching movies and playing on the wii. We very much enjoy meeting people from other parts of the world and learning about other cultures. Over the last 14 years we have had professional travellers & students stay with us from China, Japan, Hong Kong, United States, Canada, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Holland and Italy. Short term Homestay placements can be offered on both a bed & breakfast basis at a rate of £150 per week or a half board basis at a rate of £195 sterling pounds per person per week. Continental breakfast is on offer with a wide choice of cereals, toast, bagels, crumpets, fruit etc. Dinner is a two course home cooked affair with a number of international dishes as well as the more traditional English menu. We try to accommodate personal requests wherever possible. The single room available is bright and airy with free wi fi access, cupboard, bedside table and chest of drawers. There is also a double room available and a clean modern shared bathroom with power shower and bath. More testimonials and pictures of the house and rooms are available and can be emailed on request. We take pride in providing a friendly place to stay for students studying away from home and ensure they are offered the opportunity to converse regularly in English and participate in British family life. We are an experienced homestay family and look forward to welcoming you to London & our home. February 2015, Jesse Appleton, Hong Kong Wonderful British home-stay experience! I appreciate what Teresa has done for me. As a host, Teresa is a fantastic lady, she's always in jovial mood, always finds time to entertain her guests. Although Teresa seems very busy juggling with her schedule, work and her child, she has never failed to cook a decent meal, and the cleaning and laundry etc., all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house itself is airy, bright, comfortable and spacious. It is very clean and reasonably tidy as well. The location is in zone 4, there are numerous beautiful parks, and shops nearby. Getting to Central London is fast and easy. There's a lot of options, it's easy to connect to the Northern Line or Piccadilly Line, where buses come by every few minutes toward the stations. I absolutely loved my time staying with Teresa's family, I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an all-around excellent value home-stay experience in London. September 2014 testimonial, Graham Jolicoeur, Roger Williams University, USA While this wasn’t my first time to London, Ms. Teresa provided a warm welcoming British home. Being able to stay with a British family instead of in a hotel gave me a greater understanding of what living and being British is like. The home which was a rather large semi-detached home in suburban London, provided me with a large very comfortable bed. The large shower was also nice, especially after walking around in London all day. Ms. Teresa also gave me great suggestions of things to see. She genuinely wanted me to have a great new experience as she knew I had traveled to London several times before. The continental breakfast was always set ready so as we could get up at our leisure. Dinners were always delicious, and our host always seemed cautious as to make sure whatever she cooked was something to our liking. There was plenty of opportunity for conversation with our host family which made my stay most meaningful. It was the combination of the home, food, and welcoming family that made this such a great host family. I would most definitely recommend. April 2014 testimonial, Kate Piasek, Poland It was my first time in London. You couldn't imagine better host family – I felt there as if they were my old friends. Jake – delightful boy. Teresa gave me several very useful advice before I came there which helped me in planning my trip. Moreover – serve a really good food. I recommend :-) April 2014 testimonial, Elizabeth Suermann, Germany I liked the time in your family a lot. It was really funny to play card games with the whole family or to play football with Jake in the garden. I think London is a really nice city with a lot of beautiful places and it was a great time. The food tasted well, too and it was very interesting to see how an english family live. I enjoyed the time in England a lot and I look forward to see you again in few years. September 2013 testimonial, Lea Kablik, Roger Williams University, USA This past fall, two other students and I stayed with Teresa and Jake for our homestay week before our study abroad program started, and it was a perfect introduction to London! It’s a charming home that has plenty of room for people to stay. Teresa was helpful in showing us the area and telling us how to get to and from the main city. Also, she prepares dinner at night so you don’t need to worry too much about emptying your wallet. Be sure to ask her to make chili and Cajun chicken pasta! As well as a lovely little family, its easy to get to and from the tube station. My homestay in that house will remain one of my favorite memories of my trip to London!
